The Grace United Church Choir is an active, dedicated volunteer choir. This mixed voice choir ministers through music each Sunday with a wide variety of traditional and contemporary choral music. Members of the choir are encouraged to participate in the music ministry as soloists and in small groups. In addition to preparing for the weekly Sunday service, the choir prepares two choral services each year. One of those takes place in Advent and the other in the late spring.
The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from September through to early June. Rehearsals take place in the church from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. We try to be punctual in starting and ending and we make use of each minute of the rehearsal. We always welcome new members and encourage people to consider joining us in the choir. This is not a senior choir - new members, young and old, are welcome!
There are openings in the choir for all voices.
Grace Instrumental Group (GIG)
GIG is our Grace United Church orchestra. It consists of adults and students from Grade 7 and up who are playing instruments at school or taking lessons privately. The choir director arranges to have the orchestra take part in several worship services during the church year.
Organist and Choir Director
Grace is very fortunate to have Malcolm Bradley as our organist and choir director. Malcolm has been with us at Grace for twenty years. He enriches our Sundays with his love of music. His superior musical talents include playing the pipe organ and piano, selecting and arranging music for both choirs and junior orchestra, and ensuring Grace has a rewarding musical experience reflecting the theme of each Sunday service. He combines a gentle humour with a wonderful ability to teach music to all ages and levels of musical skill which is apparent during our occasional pre-service hymn sings.
