About Connecting

A sense of belonging to a larger community is important to our health and happiness. We invite you to join our community.

Connecting was more challenging in a Covid-19 Pandemic but as we start to emerge from the pandemic there are opportunities to gather face-to-face. Each Sunday, there is a fellowship time after the Church service. As well, both the Men’s and Early Morning Riser’s (Women’s) breakfast now occur in-person.

There are other in-person connecting opportunities. The choir will resume meeting weekly in the fall. The AV Group is looking for additional volunteers to support the worship service. There is also a regular Walk with Grace, a drop-in walk, on Sundays at 7pm in the summer. See Facebook for notices on this. There are also volunteer opportunities.

In the pre-Covid world, it has also been said that when two or three United Church people come together, there would be food and it did seem that much of our connecting takes place over food. Whether it is at our weekly coffee fellowship after church or one of our special event meals! Whether there is food or not, we do like to gather for social events, and often for a purpose and look forward to doing so in the future.

For some of our events or groups, all you need to do is show up. Watch our bulletin, Facebook or our website for details or you can contact the office. We usually host several fellowship events during the year and participate in some ecumenical events with other denominations represented in the community. We hold numerous events throughout the year to fund raise. This is an opportunity to build bonds of friendship by working together on a project.

For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.
